It is my firm belief that a woman should give birth where she feels safest and for most of us, that is in our home.  As we meet together in your home over the course of your pregnancy we will feel safe there together. 

 

When you believe you are starting into labor we will be in communication by phone.  As your labor progresses into a pattern we will decide together when I will come to your home, for most women this will be in active labor.  Every labor and every birth is unique so the amount of time I will be with you will vary, according to your individual needs.

 

After your baby is born I will stay with you during those first tender hours as you settle in with your baby.  During that time of transition, I will regularly check the well-being of you and your baby, assist you with nursing, help you get settled into a postpartum routine and make arrangements to return for a 24-hour check.  I will also be available by phone during the postpartum period.
